3PL aka 3rd Party Logistics is a third-party company providing outsourced logistics services, such as integrated operation, warehousing, and transportation which can be adjusted based on customers’ needs.

3PLs don’t own vehicles or storage facilities.

Freight carriers (trucking companies that own and operate their own trucks) are not considered 3PLs.
